7 Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes

The holidays are the perfect time to relax and eat good food.  Especially after a year like this one, I think we’re all ready to sit back and enjoy the comforts of the season.

With Thanksgiving kicking off the festivities, many of us dust off our old recipe books and brace ourselves for hours spent in the kitchen making delicious dishes to enjoy with our families.

Not every recipe needs amending. We’ve all got those family recipes passed down generations that are, frankly, untouchable to preserve their integrity. In my case it’s apple pie – you’re welcome, Grandma. But, we’ve all experienced that food coma that comes with delighting a little too much in the good stuff and the guilt that follows.

Balance is key. Why not mix some healthy stuff in with those family recipes? Stick to the fried turkey but sub out a couple of side dishes with some healthier alternatives that are sure to be a hit.

Here are some tested favorites that won’t disappoint.

Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Garlic
Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan
Healthier Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Oat Streusel
The Best Paleo Stuffing
Healthy Green Bean Casserole
Roasted Potatoes, Carrots, Parsnips, and Brussels
